PUBLIC NOTICE

Pursuant to the Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Rules and Regulations, and Clean Streams Law, notice is hereby given that RES Coal LLC, 51 Airport Road, Clearfield, PA 16830 has made application to the Bureau of District Mining Operations, 286 Industrial Park Road, Ebensburg, PA 15931-4119, for a revision to their existing surface mine permit #11150101 – 89 Job Matish Mine located in Reade Township, Cambria County as shown on the USGS 7-½ ‘ Blandburg Quadrangle map. The revision is requested for the purpose of adjusting the permit boundary and adding 5.0 acres of coal removal to the existing 65.7 acre permit area. The permit was originally issued on 04/18/17 and is located approx. 2,700’ west of the village of Glasgow and the intersection of SR 0865 (Skyline Drive) and SR 0253 (Executive Drive), and is bounded on the north by SR 1022 (Roseland Road), and on the south by SR 0253, on the properties of E.P. Bender Coal Co., Inc., Brent & Brian Matish and Michael L. Apple. Access to the site will be via an existing haul road directly off SR 0253. Receiving streams for the operation are Fallentimber Run and unnamed tributaries to Fallentimber Run. This revision will also involve the addition of a sedimentation pond for erosion and sedimentation control which will discharge to Fallentimber Run. A copy of the application for revision is available for public inspection at the Cambria District Mining Office at the address listed above. Anyone wishing to submit comments or requests for an informal conference concerning this application for revision should write to the above listed Bureau of District Mining Operations address within thirty (30) days of the final publication of this notice stating his or her name, address, telephone number, and the nature of their comment. This application is made in accordance with the provisions of the Act of June 22, 1937, P.L., 1987, as amended.
